Souraki SIMA is a multi-skilled computer scientist with over 15 years of experience in technology and digital innovation. Currently serving as the Head of Digital Transformation at Energie du Mali (EDM S.A), Malian utility, he specializes in creating secure, integrated IT environments that align with organizational objectives and foster technological advancement. His expertise in both technical and managerial roles enables him to support EDM's digital initiatives, streamline processes, and lead changes across departments.
SIMA's career is marked by diverse roles that demonstrate his commitment to leveraging ICT for Development (ICT4D). He began as IT Manager at École Supérieure de Technologie et de Management, where he strengthened IT infrastructure, managed budgets, and improved system efficiencies. He later progressed within EDM (Malian utility), overseeing customer management software, testing updates, and developing strategies for digital tools. In 2021, he assumed his current role, where he drives digital transformation initiatives, advises on digital objectives, and mentors teams in new technologies.
In addition to his work at EDM, SIMA shares his knowledge as a part-time professor at TECHNOLAB - ISTA, where he teaches subjects like information systems, programming, and innovation. Sima is an alumnus of the JICA Scholarship Program, having completed a master's degree and internship in Japan at Kobe Institute of Computing as part of the African Business Education Initiative for Youth. He is a strategic technology leader committed to driving innovation in Mali's energy sector through ICT solutions that optimize processes and foster sustainable development.
