Prof. Michal Bassani-Sternberg earned her PhD in Biology from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. From 2012 to 2015, she conducted postdoctoral research in the Proteomics and Signal Transduction Department, led by Prof. Matthias Mann at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry. Since 2015, she has led the Antigen Discovery Laboratory within the Oncology Department at the University Hospital of Lausanne, which is also affiliated with the Lausanne Branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. In 2021, she was appointed as a tenure-track assistant professor. Her laboratory focuses on the development and clinical translation of advanced experimental and computational workflows for antigen discovery. By integrating proteogenomics and mass spectrometry–based immunopeptidomics, her work supports the advancement of personalized cancer immunotherapy.
