Join us as Jim Westdorp shares insights into the priorities and drivers influencing US government agencies as they increasingly opt to evolve from private datacentres towards a hybrid public/private cloud model. He will also discuss the role of regulation and governance for critical infrastructure as user expectations around network resilience and latency evolve and as security challenges continue to grow. Finally, he will discuss the impact of AI on this evolution.
AI has catapulted from being a useful but illusive technology to potentially becoming one of the most strategic technologies the world has seen. Governments all over the world are looking at how the transformative power of AI can be harnessed to deliver the next generation of citizen-centric services and improve productivity. While AI is estimated to contribute over USD 17 trillion to the global economy by 2030, including up to $600 billion annually in Australia alone, the ability to realise these benefits is not without its challenges. Trust, Data Sovereignty, Security, and Data Protection, are front and centre of government policy makers and industry leaders. Join us as we explore how governments are designing and implementing AI and Data Solutions to innovatively solve some of their most difficult problems, while effectively addressing these risks and challenges.
Over the past decades, our critical infrastructure has increasingly become privatised, softwarised, interconnected and interdependent. A major impact of this trend is an increased attack surface, with multiple examples of attacks and outages all over the world. However, software is not just the problem but also the solution. This presentation will explain that it is availability that defines infrastructure as critical, but also that availability is still the least understood concept in the well-known CIA triad of cyber security. At the Innovation Central Canberra, we started an open research program in the context of the National Industry Innovation Network, focussing on cyber security of critical infrastructure and with Zero-Trust Architectures as a key pillar.
Removing friction from the citizen experience is top of mind for many government agencies, but how to manage this while ensuring security is not an after-thought and data sovereignty and integrity is not only maintained but centralised and can be administrated with relative ease.Citizens are expecting the same interaction with their government bodies, be they local, state or federal as they have with commercial organisations. Combine this with internal expectations of employees who want their experiences seamless and the move to leveraging digital channels and automating tasks is becoming an imperative.Join Optus and NICE to learn how their partnership brings together market leading technology with strength, security and resilience of a carrier-grade network all to bring intelligent CX to government in Australia.
